Comparison for companies in Paraguay

RPA vs AI agent in Paraguay

RPA when steps and screens never change. An AI agent when input arrives messy (emails, PDFs, chats) and must be interpreted before acting. They often work together.

RPA if

  • Your process has fixed steps on the same portals every month.
  • Data already comes structured from your accounting system.
  • You know the exceptions by heart and they are few.

AI agent if

  • Supplier documents arrive in different formats.
  • Before loading anything you must decide which rate or account applies.
  • You want your accountant to see only the doubtful cases.

Tokens: the unit AI providers bill for the text the model reads (input) and writes (output). OpenAI puts 100 tokens at about 75 English words.

With these inputs the hours saved do not recover the investment: start smaller, or the value has to come from elsewhere (fewer errors, faster decisions). USD prices converted at PYG 5,694.47 per dollar (reference rate of 9 Oct 2026): BCP

Frequently asked questions

Can I automate my DNIT tasks?

You can automate data preparation and internal tasks. To issue documents, the official path is SIFEN, either with your own software built to DNIT specifications or with E-kuatia’i for small issuers.

Can an AI agent decide whether a purchase is VAT 5% or 10%?

It can propose the classification from your rules and the invoice detail, but a person should validate doubtful cases. Tax responsibility remains with your company.

What about customer data the robot handles?

If the process handles credit data, Law 6534/2020 applies (informed consent and data subject rights). Give the robot only the access it needs and log what it does.
